From Studio 21 to Surface. We started in London in 2006, designing and building websites. Over the years the work grew to include SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads and conversion work, all aimed at one thing: more leads for our clients.
Surface is the name that brings it all together. What hasn't changed is how we look after people. Our aim hasn't changed either: one team, accountable for your growth. No shortcuts, and no tricks that fade with the next Google update. Just a website built to convert, search and ads built to deliver, and our hands on all of it.

Dave and Dara are your first point of contact. Behind them is our team, who know your account and do the work. They know your business, and they look after it like their own.
David has spent 20 years designing websites and growing businesses through search and ads. He's a Google Partner, he records every free video review himself, and he's often the one who picks up when you call.
Dara keeps everything running smoothly, from client communication and operations to your ad accounts. If something needs sorting, Dara's on it.

AI is one of our tools. It helps us research faster, find inspiration and handle the routine tasks, which keeps your costs down. The strategy, the design and the decisions stay with us.
We don't use AI to design websites, because a site built from a prompt looks like everyone else's and says nothing about your business. Every page is designed by a person who knows your brand, checked by our team, and tested before it goes live.
