Boomers Travel Insurance has covered mature Australians travelling at home and overseas since 2015. It's a 100% Australian-owned business led by Ian Jackson, and its policies are issued by Chase Underwriting Solutions and underwritten by certain underwriters at Lloyd's. Every plan includes unlimited overseas medical cover and cruise medical cover at no extra cost.
Travel insurance is one of the most crowded categories online, led by comparison sites and big insurers. Older travellers research carefully before they buy: they want to know what they're covered for, whether their medical conditions will be accepted and which plan suits the trip, and they often compare over several visits before they quote. Boomers needed a site that answered those questions plainly for travellers in their 60s, 70s and 80s, ranked for the searches they make, and got them to a quote in as few steps as possible.
We designed and built the site on WordPress. The homepage opens on the quote form, so a visitor can enter their destination, dates, travellers and ages straight away, under Boomers' live ProductReview rating. It then sets out what the cover includes, compares the benefits and introduces the three single-trip plans, Basic, Essentials and Comprehensive, alongside the Annual Multi-Trip plan.
Each plan has its own page with its cover at a glance and what is and isn't included, and a comparison page lines the three up benefit by benefit. Pages for travellers over 60, over 70 and over 80, cruise travel insurance and pre-existing medical conditions answer the questions older travellers ask most, with FAQs, claims and contact pages for the rest. The Travel Hub sorts the blog into travel styles, destinations, travel advice and before-you-go guides.
The header keeps the phone number and the Get a Quote button on screen on every page. Surface also runs Boomers' SEO, Google Ads and Meta Ads, and the Boomers Travel Insurance case study has the results.
